Confessions of a Beauty Product Junkie: Urban Decay Launches Vice Lipstick App
Feelin' myself using the Urban Decay SnapChat lens |
On Wendesday June 22nd, edgy makeup brand Urban Decay launched a limited-time SnapChat lens promoting their largest lipstick launch. Vice Lipstick is the brand's new lipstick line with 100 shades in six different finishes.
Since going through 100 shades of lipstick would be overwhelming for a consumer, Urban Decay has launched their very own app to try on the shades.
Check out my latest article on it here.

Celebrities at Game 7 at the NBA Finals
Game 7 of the NBA Finals was the ultimate nail-biter.
Being from the Bay, of course I wanted the Warriors to win their second title, especially at home. However, I do like LeBron and was glad to see him achieve his goal of bringing a championship to Cleveland after a 52 year drought.
Regardless, your girl was at the game and so were other celebrities.
No Beyonce this time, unfortunately.

First Teaser of Tupac Shakur "All Eyez on Me" Biopic
Today would've been Tupac's 45th birthday.
Oakland is allegedly claiming June 16th will now be known as "Tupac Shakur Day", and now we're getting a biopic.
For YEARS there have been rumors of a biopic, especially after Biggie's (which made Pac look crazy as hell).
Now it looks like it's finally here.
Actor Demetrius Shipp Jr. will play Shakur and Jamal Woolard is reprising his role as Christopher "Notorious B.I.G" Wallace. The Walking Dead's Danai Gurira will play Afeni Shakir, Kat Graham will play Pac's close-friend, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Stefon Washington will be Sean "Puffy" Combs and Lauren Cohen from The Vampire Diaries will play Shakur's first manager Leila Steinberg.
It looks good and Tupac really deserves it.
Too bad Afeni passed prior to the release.

Throwback Monday
Today's Throwback.
I don't have anything profound to say regarding the tragedy in Orlando. These things are happening too often and it makes me sick to my stomach. What makes me feel better is that everyone is banding together to show that LOVE is LOUDER than hate.
As long as we still keep dancing when the beat drops, we've prevented them from winning.

Beyonce Kills it with CFDA Fashion Icon Acceptance Speech

On Monday night, Queen Bey accepted, The Council of Fashion Designers of America's (CFDA) Fashion Icon Award. She did it while looking fly as hell wearing a hat that looks like it came fresh off her Formation World Tour.

beyonce.com |
Upon receiving the award, Bey made the most profound and powerful speech explaining how back when she was starting out in Destiny's Child, alot of designers didn't want to dress them. "When we were starting out in Destiny’s Child, high-end labels didn’t want to dress four black country girls."
Boy, I bet those designers regret that choice now!
It was a family affair, husband Jay Z was in attendance as well as baby Blue Ivy and mom Tina Lawson.
Read Bey's full speech here:
“Thank you Diane. It’s such an honor to receive this award from you.
You know, as long as I can remember, fashion has been a part of my life. It’s effect on me actually started before I was born.
beyonce.com |
She then passed this gift down to my mother and taught her how to sew.
When we were starting out in Destiny’s Child, high-end labels didn’t want to dress four black country girls. We couldn’t afford designer dresses. My mom was rejected from every showroom in New York.
But like my grandmother, she used her talent and creativity to give her children their dreams. My mother and my Uncle Jonny designed all of our first costumes and made each piece by hand…individually sewing hundreds of crystals and pearls…putting so much passion and love into every small detail. And when I wore these clothes onstage, I felt like I had an extra suit of armor. It was so much deeper than any brand name…my mother and my uncle and my grandmother were with me…I couldn’t fail.
My mother designed my wedding dress, the dress I wore when I won my first Grammy…the list goes on and on…
This to me is the true power and potential of fashion. It’s a tool for finding your own identity, expression, and strength. It transcends style and is a time capsule of our greatest milestones.
So to my mother, my uncle, and my Grandma, I just want to say thank you.
Thank you for showing me that having a presence is more than the clothes you wear or your physical beauty. Thank you for showing me how to never take no for an answer. Thank you for showing me how to take risks, work hard, and live life on my own terms.
And I want to say thank you to every designer that works tirelessly to make people feel like they can write their own story. You are fairy godmothers, magicians, sculptures…sometimes even therapists.
I encourage you to not forget this power that you have or take it lightly. We have an opportunity to contribute to a society where any girl can look at a billboard or a magazine cover and see her reflection. Soul has no color, no shape, no form…just like all of your work, it goes so far beyond what the eye can see. You have the power to change perception, to inspire and empower…to show people how to embrace their complications and flaws to see the true beauty and strength that’s inside all of us.
Thank you.”

Surprise Kanye Concert Sparks Chaos in NYC's East Village

Kanye attempting to get into Webster Hall |
More than 4,000 Yeezus fans swarmed New York's East Village and Webster Hall to get a glimpse of Kanye after he announced a surprise 2am concert.
West was in NYC to headline the Governors Ball but it was cancelled because of the weather. To make use of his time, he made a guest appearance at Hot 97's Summer Jam and performed alongside Big Sean and Pusha T and even performed his new song Champions from the G.O.O.D Music collaborative Cruel Winter.
To keep the party going, a tweet went out about a pop-up concert at Webster Hall at 2am. When news broke, fans were lining up around the block to snag a ticket to see the show. Keep in mind, Webster Hall only holds 1,500 people. 90 minutes before showtime the line was 2 blocks away!
Twitter was blowing up by the amount of people starting to gather.
Here are some tweets Gothamist found:

As chaos reigned, wifey Kim Kardashian West snap chatted Ye reaching out to someone asking NYC's mayor de Blasio to block off some streets and allow for this party.Okay there are like weird stampede sprints and people climbing the scaffolding on 4th Ave and shit. Nooooope.— Hilary Hughes (@hilmonstah) June 6, 2016
By 1am Yeezy announced the concert had been sold out, and then Webster Hall tweeted this:SHUT DOWN THE BLOCK 4 STREETS AND PUT SCREENS SO THEY CAN HAVE A PARTY OUTSIDE. @kanyewest the 🐐 pic.twitter.com/scOfRht9V6— TeamKanyeDaily (@TeamKanyeDaily) June 6, 2016
There is no late show at Webster Hall tonight. Please get home safely.— Webster Hall (@WebsterHall) June 6, 2016
So, all in all the show was cancelled due to public safety concerns. Yeezy did attempt to pull up and try to make this happen, but alas it couldn't.
Regardless of the mob, the chaos, people getting hurt and climbing scaffoldings in NYC, West's squad couldn't believe the madness praising the rapper.when @kanyewest is getting mobbed by screaming fans right across your dorm 😅 pic.twitter.com/PMVJWD6MAw— Eric Liang (@hiEricLiang) June 6, 2016
Damn, no one man should have all that power.
